Renters’ Right Act Becomes Law In England

⚠️ UPDATE: RENTERS’ RIGHT ACT BECOMES LAW IN ENGLAND

The new Renters’ Rights Act 2025 has received Royal Assent and will reform renting laws in England by banning Section 21 “no-fault” evictions, replacing fixed-term tenancies with periodic ones, and introducing a new Decent Homes Standard for the private rented sector. Key changes for tenants include protection against discrimination and bidding wars, while landlords will have to use a new Ombudsman and register on a national database. Implementation will be phased, with some provisions taking effect in late 2025 and others later
