The Isle of Portland is located on the award-Winning Jurassic Coast in Dorset, England. Known for its rugged natural beauty, Portland is part of the larger Weymouth and Portland borough. The island is characterized by its three lighthouses, limestone cliffs, quarries, and coastal views, making it a popular spot for outdoor activities like hiking, climbing, and water sports. Our Portland office has been established for over 60 years, offering quality customer service with modern marketing methods in all aspects of property: from sales, lettings and management.

The office is based in Easton which is the central hub of the island, boasting modern property displays, open plan office space, printing facilities and even a Yorkshire Building Society. We are proud to be a diverse business, with 15 members of staff aged between 18 – 75 years of age we can draw on over 100 years of skills and knowledge to tackle any problems. Many members of our team and Portland locals through and through, with a number being born and bread on the island itself! Due to this the community and local area is at the heart of what we do, from local sponsorships, raffle events and donations to the local food bank.

1.Rock Solid History and Trade

Historically, Portland has been famous for its high-quality Portland stone and has been quarried for almost 1,000 years. You’ll find Portland Limestone in landmarks all over the UK such as St. Paul’s Cathedral in London. The island’s maritime heritage is also significant, with Portland Harbour being a key site for naval activities, Portland Bill lighthouse, a landmark that guides ships navigating the English Channel. Portland even has its own Castle which was built by King Henry VIII in 1541.

2. A perfect balance of the natural world and human comforts

The town of Portland itself is a mix of historical architecture, residential areas, and natural beauty spots. The island is home to a number of attractions, including the beautiful Chesil Beach, which stretches for 18 miles, and the Portland Bill lighthouse. The area also offers rich wildlife and coastal habitats, drawing birdwatchers, nature enthusiasts and geologists from all over.

3. A community committed to integration

The town and island are also known for their strong community and local culture, often hosting events such as arts festivals and outdoor performances. Despite its relatively small size, Portland remains an important and unique part of Dorset’s coastline, blending history, natural beauty, and modern life.
